When Children Lead the Conversation: EYP Student-Led Conference
Our Early Years learners took the lead, sharing their portfolios and learning with their parents.

In a traditional parent meeting, the teacher speaks and the child waits outside. At TDS, our Student-Led Conferences reverse that picture.
In March 2022, Early Years learners sat beside their parents and guided them through their portfolios: drawings, early writing, photographs of their play and their own reflections. With gentle support from their teachers, children explained what they had learned, what they were proud of and what they would like to practise next.
Even very young learners can reflect on their learning when given the opportunity. Student-Led Conferences build self-awareness, communication skills and a sense of ownership that grows stronger throughout the PYP and MYP years.
We are grateful to our parents for listening so attentively, and to our teachers for preparing our youngest learners to take the lead with such confidence.
